Inbound Marketing: Making Your Customers Want to Find You

Businesses need to achieve efficiency in every endeavor that they take. More goals should be achieved with the least possible amount of resources so that operations are sustained in the long run.

This very same efficiency is necessary in the marketing efforts of a company. That is why today, many businesses are shifting a bulk of their marketing budget from the traditional outbound marketing strategies to what we call “inbound marketing.”

What, exactly, is inbound marketing?

Inbound marketing is outbound marketing flipped on the head. If outbound marketing is focused on finding customers by making use of strategies that interrupt people and are generally poorly-targeted (e.g. cold-calling, print advertising, T.V. advertising, junk mail, spam, and trade shows), inbound marketing focuses on getting found by customers. Inbound marketing includes strategies that would make the target market want to find or contact your business. It is less costly, better targeted and is actually considered an investment and not an ongoing expense.

Inbound marketing has three basic components. If these components are present and properly used, your marketing campaigns can become successful.

1.) Content

This is what attracts the customer to find or contact your business. This is inbound marketing’s magnet.

2.) Search Engine Optimization

This makes it easier for your target market to find your business. By ranking high on search engines, people could see the contents that you produce and they could easily begin with the buying process.

3.) Social Media

Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media platforms amplify the impact of your content. When your content is published on these platforms and discussed on networks of personal relationships, it becomes more authentic and engaging.

Making your customers want to find and contact you requires smart and properly-executed campaigns. If you are not yet practicing inbound marketing strategies, you can start creating your marketing action plan today.
